The company was founded in 1962 thanks to the entrepreneurship of 4 units of the same family. In 1974 the production plant was moved to approximately 6000 m2. which still host the company in Vaiano, in the Bisenzio Valley. In the early 1990s, Filati Omega transformed itself from a third-party manufacturer into one of the most popular carded yarn production and trading industries on the national and international scene. The yarns are used for the production of furnishing fabrics, clothing and accessories of the main world brands.
The company selects the best raw materials by purchasing 90% of them directly in their places of origin such as: South Africa, Australia, South America and New Zealand. All recycled materials used are sourced from suppliers in the Prato district. It is very attentive to the issues of the green economy, sustainable production and the circular economy.
