Trafi srl was founded in 1982 as a company for dyeing yarn on cones with the "astro dyeing" technique, a space dyeing technique that allows the same cone to be dyed with four different colors in order to obtain a patterned yarn. Trafi has always developed new techniques to obtain textile products with particular characteristics that could satisfy the demands of the fashion sector for innovation. In particular, as regards multicolor dyeing, it has developed a series of techniques in order to obtain a large number of effects on any textile support and has created machines for dyeing fabrics with many different effects, from dyeing with classic coloring materials to dyeing pigment. As far as yarn is concerned, it has systems for dyeing skeins, cones and tops and dyes the yarn continuously with both dyes and pigment. The same variety of possibilities is present in the treatment of ready-made garments.
In research, in addition to the development of techniques for multicolor dyeing, Trafi also develops different treatments always aimed at obtaining "novelty" products.
